I'd like a brand archive which is searchable not only the companies name, but their sector/field as well.

just saw this earned some discussion in the PVN – to clarify:
yes, it's BRAND NEW, with practically nothing in there.
searchability: you enter the image, the designer/firm, year released, and as many keywords as you'd like.
once it's populated a bit (or a lot), you'll be able to search by industry and get relevant results.
the key is that it's keyword searchable, and the designer enters the keywords.
very much like a stock photo site, but you put in your own meta data on the logo design

the vision is that eventually, you search for keywords that describe your in-progress logo, and you see if there's anything out there already that would conflict.
could be a great research tool, but it needs people to get on board with it.

yeah, I went about putting it together because I got nailed on some logo projects...and if something like this were around, I could have avoided major hassles
I announced it here first because aside from the expected jabs, I trust this crowd for input and involvement on building something useful for the design industry
