I have to design some name tags for a big event. This isn't something I normally do. So I ordered about 300 Avery 74541 tags, but we don't want just a plain design. We want a designed one, and I now have the right paper, but I'm not sure how to set up a template like this using Illy or Photoshop. Do I need to use Word? Can it be done in a design program? HELP!

just get out your ruler and measure your borders and space between labels and set up the template with guides in illy. when you have your design in, print out a sheet on regular paper - lay the label sheet on top of the paper - hold it up to the light to see if it matches and make adjustments if needed.

They have pre-designed ones that say
"HELLO MY NAME IS"
And then you write the name it why waste time measuring.
