Im not afraid, more like rubber-necking at a car wreck type of interest. The guy I work with is a real fucking loudmouth.

Garett, you don't really know what Para was talking about there. You know what, you are going on the ignore.

What kind of newspaper is it? Gov't controlled? Independent?
- mrdobolina0
not really sure, blastofv, I may be able to get that info from my boss though.
- blastofv0
yeah, the political spin of that paper might make all the difference. I wonder if this guy bothers to look into those details, or if he's so caught up in hatred (warranted or not) that he flat out shits on anyone from Syria.

We shall see what happens, should be interesting.
To go back a little bit to something that Garett said before, the reasons I am not worried about the Syrian guys are:
a. they are the foreigners, I can't really see someone coming to a country to glean info off of another newspaper and then turning it into a political thing.
b. I don't know them but I do know the guy at my job, who is bout it bout it when it comes to Israel.

When I lived in the US my wife and I used to go to this grocery place in Brooklyn. There was a Syrian woman working there. She worked for an Egytian guy for such long hours, she went on for 8 months before she went to Manhattan for the first time.
She was very educated, had a Masters in English and BA in art history.
She once asked us where we were from. When we told her "Israel", she went silent. After a couple of times she started talking with us again. She said she could not imagine Israelies could be normal people (well, I guess she didn't know us that well), since they were thought that all Israelies are demons.
We stayed in touch for quite a while and also befriended her family. No reasos why peeps shouldn't get along on personal bassis.
Independant press in Syria? You must be joking. There is no independant press in Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia or even Jordan.
You can talk to this guy and explain your point of view, if he goes ahead and makes an ass of himself, so be it.
BTW, he's wrong—who said the US matters? :)

(Aug 17 06, 09:27)c. You realized you were wrong to single out the Jew and try desperately to cover your ass and make yourself believe otherwise.
Now, won't you feel like an over-reacting jump-the-gun pussy when nothing happens and they all get along just fine.
Can't wait to be the first to tell you I told you so.
You're blinders and all or nothing attitude are getting the best of you again.
