Is my work in this relevant?
Or should the fact that for example your website looks heavily influenced by certain 2004/5 designtrends and sites (for example the old dstrukt site) disqualify all your comments here?
Not so long ago the design community was about discussion and collaboration. But if NT is the measure of today, only bitching and kiddy jokes seem to be the norm.

simone who?
- republik80
I'm eager to see some of calcio's work.

i respect your opinion Kelpie. Disagree with it, but still, at least contradicting opinions give room for discussion.
Cheers!

I think this is healthy debate with a smattering of kiddie jokes.
A good balance.

(Aug 17 06, 05:20)of course it's relevent, more-so than stating the years that visual trends were popular?!? c'mon grow up mate...
your points are valid, just way off base... but hey, it's your opinion, and you are entitled to it...

the before mentioned http://www.dstrukt.com/ is in my opinion a very simple, basic design which does sell itself because of the simple slideshow of outstanding work.
But he can pull it off because of his portfolio.
- mr_snuggles0
and you think my site looks like that?!? dude, glasses now...
- calcio0
the OLD dstrukt site. Focus on the word OLD as in former as in not current.
Anyway, it is not something i care about at all, but don't bs about people's work influencing the relevance of their words.
- mr_snuggles0
why did you bother to post that one then?
bottom line is that a good portfolio site, regardless of your style/trend carbon-dating system, should be simple, easy to navigate and showcase the work with as little exterior distraction as possible...
- emptyempty0
wha? it's nice and simple site, apart from the small text.
The work is good as well, keep up the good work.
- emptyempty0
All he need to do is to make the text one size bigger...
- mrdobolina0
exactly, someone is telling me to increase my font size! yeah that's usable.

crit threads reveal way more about the commenters than the work being critted
- mr_snuggles0
you're on fire, jon..
no seriously, stop, drop and roll mate...
