Come on your print gurus. Help a brutha out.
I got a PDF created in illy that looks perfect on screen, prints perfect on our laser printer, but when i took it to the print shop next door for a test run the fonts got a little messed up. Instead of smooth curves for the letters it now looks kind of blocky and chopped.
All of my type has been created to outlines.
I've tried everything I know (which isn't much). Please help. My ass is sort of riding on getting this right.

It's the printers problem!
They haven't set up their gear correctly!Lazy fuckers always blame it on us! But the real problem is them. Tell em to fix their shit and stop wasting your time.!!

designerror I hope you are right because I'm taking your word for it. This thing needs to go out first thing tomorrow morning and I am completely stuck.

Woah! Wait! Your fonts may be corrupt. Are they postscript fonts? PS fonts go haywire all the time. Rweal nightmare. Why dont you try saving a version out with the fonts outlined? No fonts, no problem.
Give it a try. Also, email me if you have any further questions.

pyeaton - all of my fonts have already been converted to outlines. Still getting some wacky problems at the copy shop, but not on our cheap, in-house laser printer. Thanks for your time. Any other advice?

I haven't done print in a while, but once you create outlines for a font it's a vector shape so I don't understand why the printer is having issues. See if they can take other file formats like an eps or native file and test that out. Sometimes you have to try different things to get it to work.
