Can anyone tell me why on Mac/IE the lower nav area pops out of the container div? Here's a link to the files with a screenshot of the behavior on Mac/IE below. I've tried changing the widths and floats on all the divs with no luck. Any help is much appreciated! (yes, I DO have to support Mac/IE with this project)

Maybe your error has something to do with the fact that INTERNET EXPLORER FOR MAC HAS NOT HAD A MAJOR UPGRADE SINCE 27 MARCH 2000. Microsoft stopped supporting it in 2003 and finally took the instal file off their website in January of this year. So don't even bother with IE for Mac. It's just a figment of your imagination.

(Aug 10 06, 22:44)I have an auto redirct to a page on my site stating as much. We should take a stand against IE.

stewdio, I agree mac ie is dead and should not be supported without charging extra, but some sites must be usable in all browsers and people do get paid for that.

That's a load of crap and you know it. I seriously doubt any page you've ever made will load properly in Mosaic 1.0. What's that you say? "Mosaic isn't even being developed anymore?" Yea. Neither is Explorer 5 for Mac. Die Explorer Die!

your site is not rendering properly in lynx, you should get on that.

Word up.
Since Macs don't ship with IE anymore, and Microsoft doesn't allow you to download IE for Mac anymore, then why bother?
After fighting it, i only recently made this realization that compatibility with Mac IE is a moot point. Embrace it.

yep, agree with all above. No need to bother to test for it.
Let's see. How many computers are Mac's? and of those how many are old enough to have IE on them?
I'm guessing the chances of someone in IE on a mac hitting your site is probably just a couple in a thousand.
Yes yes you maybe on a Mac but us designers aren't the average guy, are we? haha..
blah blah.. it's friday, i'm out

I'm saying one should not bother, unless one gets specifically paid for supporting IE5.
This might be the case ie with huge news/portal type of sites, they usually have to run on pretty much everything.

could be a float bug - http://www.macedition.com/cb/ie5… have u tried absolute positioning?
