Maybe your error has something to do with the fact that INTERNET EXPLORER FOR MAC HAS NOT HAD A MAJOR UPGRADE SINCE 27 MARCH 2000. Microsoft stopped supporting it in 2003 and finally took the instal file off their website in January of this year. So don't even bother with IE for Mac. It's just a figment of your imagination.
