garrett_west, to paraphrase a good hippy philosopher, when you get around to seeing the plank in your own eye, let me know...
TheBlueOne
(Aug 10 06, 07:59)Skewing again, but this time you somehow are trying to skew my facts (and they are facts) to discredit me. I don't get how that is even possible.
I gave you facts, and you give me a stoners quote he came up with just before his fifth splif.
Go back to the drawing board.
- garett_west0
Go back and actually read the news article you posted TheBlueOne.
It doesn't say 'global warming' anywhere in it. It states the typhoon has 135mph winds. The cause is a warm Pacific current. Not WARMER current. Then do a search for the pacific current and learn what that is.
Facts.

I wont answer your stupid fucking question, balance. It makes no sense. That is not going to happen and you know it will not.
Also, I thought you were going to try to be a nice guy around here and explain your views better without insulting people. Having a bad day today?
Seriously, do you guys like pollution? Even if global warming were all based on cyclic changes, doesnt conserving energy and polluting less make like a ton of fucking sense? What is your beef with that?
Seriously, you come here with all sorts of fire and vitriol about what exactly?
What are you so angry about?
- garett_west0
When I say go back and read it, I mean more than just the headline you thought would work for your arguement... which, ironically enough holds no water.

Hey GW, man. No worries. You can believe whatever you want, You know, free country and all that.
Here's the deal - as this plays out over the next few decades we'll know. If I'm wrong you send me your address and I'll show up at your door and personally planet the biggest kiss on your ass.
If I'm right..well, doesn't really matte rmuch as we'll be fucked. But I'll get in a last "Ha-ha" at your expense.
I got more important things to do today that argue ahbout whose spinning what...in the end reality always gives us the real payback and it's always a bitch

garett. do you think anthropogenic CO2 emissions has anything to do with ocean acidification?

(Aug 10 06, 08:07)I don't understand how when he says "It's not global warming" you say "You must like pollution"
Are you really going to say that, let alone believe that?
Didn't you get mad at me when an assumption was made that because you hate America and the war, you must be a terrorist sympathiser? Same thing.
I believe the word we're looking for here is hypocrite.

(Aug 10 06, 08:08)There is a word for your belief.
The word is "ASSUMPTION".

How is your saying global warming is all cyclic not an assumption?

dont dodge the question.
- TheBlueOne0
Look, the general argument is this:
Do and can humans and human society impact climate?
You can answer yes or no to that. Each answer will take you in a differnet direction. If you answer "yes", then the next logical question is "By how much" and "How?"...
And that brings us to science, not ideology.
Most scienctists tend to support theories that human societies impact climate - regionally and globally.
GW, I was using hyperbole in my initial post. This is a designer forum where we occasionally wax on political issues as you well know. I tailor my comments to the crowd, you know. If you want a debate on the scientific evidence sometime let me know a more suitable forum for it.

Garett, you live in LA, right?
Do you know what smog is and how it is created? Do you know what acid rain is?
