Who trusts it? Who doesn't?
I've sold a lot on it, but I haven't really bought much off of it. But I may drop $400 on it tonight. Anyone ever been scammed?

I'd be extremely careful. It's not monitored like Ebay is.

I have never bought anything from it, I sold 2 broken ps2's for 3.5 cases of beer on it once though :)

i'm addicted to the furniture section, furnished the guest bedroom with it.. Plus there is some really bizaar shit in there.. I got to check it every night so i don't miss out on something

I buy shit all the time, locally only...that way you cannot get scammed. There are some killer deals!

Seff's guest room has a gin still in it.

Bought and sold a Honda Scooter
Sold a PowerBook
Bought a Bike (have to sell it on clist)
Bought a TV
Bought a zoom lenxeI've only had good experiences. The rules I follow are only deal in cash, always sell from a neutral location like Starbucks, never my apartment. Be slightly suspicious and trust your instincts.

Yeah, I'm buying this locally.
I'm just dropping a lot, but apparently the guy still has the receipt and it's never been opened. So I'm hoping it's all good.

I've always sold from my place and never had any problems.
It's the buying I'm a little hesitant about.

It's like inviting garage sale attendees to your house. You get some flakes.
- CincodeMayo0
I don't mind the garage sale aspect of it, I'm just a bit nervous about spending a lot of dough. But I'm saving a nice chunk of change by not buying it in a store.
Just curious if anyone has ever bought something from CL that totally didn't work and wasn't what the ad said it was.

//I bought a rocket propelled grenade launcher on craigslist last week, it was a fucking dud. I was pissed.

I found my investors/business partners on CL along with $75,000 of their money.

I found an awesome landscaper, who does chiropractic work on the side!

The only problem I've had with craigslist is flakes who call and say they will come over to buy something and then pull a no show. I'd say that happens to me about 50% of the time when I try to sell something. Other than that, its been only good experiences.

i bought me some ass on there.
it was aiight.

Right now I have my car up on craigslist and also my G5 iMac. I just got a response from someone with poor writing (unless its a craigslist editor issue) who said they want to be highest bidder and will put a USPS "money order" in the mail. That smells like scam.
- CincodeMayo0
That is a scam. I've posted a number of things in the last few days and I've gotten TONS of those saying they will send money "USPS." It used to be through Western Union. I guess those scammers all switched over to the USPS!
- joyride0
get him to send the money order. Then send him a picture of your stuff... its a scam anyway, so have some fun

sell + buy something you'll be meeting the person face 2 face for.
