i have come to the conclusion that my new wardrobe, will be my current wardrobe w/ labels cut out altered and made so that i can put my own label over top of them,
and then of course the progression to a sewing computer..
for traditions sake ya know.
i wish i would buy somebody elses clothes again.
in these idustrial times? when the economy is literally sick.
battle royalle in vietnam and in eurasia, so things are silly these days
ie prices
i rep for Nigo tho and would do a collaborative effort, only w/ purpose obviously, not a contrived scheme to sell a bunch of shirts for an opinion of mine -
and i doubt he's doin that, its just that certain people really do think its a difference between the two,
haha,
its all the same thing

(Aug 9 06, 15:23)they the the whole appropriating tee thing just like everyone else has and just like dudes like shepard fairey thrive on. if you look at that whole scene, the people the artists and deisgners they work with are all huge - dan colen, ryan mcginley, eric adorn...

Granted I understand that the quality in material may be lacking somewhat in the bAPE clothing - but really DUDES! - welcome to consumerism!
ePill its hilarious how you say you can't compare LV and Gucci to bAPE - ever here of the most successful advertising campaign in history - DIAMONDS! - worth nothing until someone snags the entire market and creates a huge demand for them.
You slam bAPE just slightly after you admit to having owned a bunch of it but back up LV and Gucci - which are WAY more mass market than bAPE.
Dude most of everything these days is mass market and I'm willing to bet you would give your right arm to own a company like bAPE. PVC shit and all.
The minute I can get on the SUBWAY on the way to work and count 25 REAL LV bags on women from the SUBURBS I can pretty much say its as high end as a pair of Chuck Taylors. I don't care what its made of.
- MLP0
i don't think the issue was who was bigger or more well-known... its over quality of goods.
bape makes hoodies, tees and a few sneaker lines. LV makes top quality leather goods. huge difference no matter how prolific they are.
- flavorful0
Yea, I like your argument against a point that wasn't there ... but you did miss the point as MLP just pointed out.
Also, this is just a pet peeve, but arguments like, "Diamonds being just a rock until advertising", or, "A rose not smelling as good if it was called shit (or something vile)", I find completely irrelevant. The sheer absurdity of the chain of events that need to come into play for that to even enter the realm of possibility I find laughable.
Because I mean let's face it ... diamonds have been in high demand for at least ... twice as long as Bapes. ////
- MLP0
i'm going to start calling roses shit and my shit roses to thwart my perception on conntations
- flavorful0
* Head explodes in awe.
Haha, I guess the "shit/roses" thing kind of came out of left field.
I have this friend who took I imagine one philosophy class in his entire life and feels the need to act like he knows what he is talking about all the time.
He bases most of his "arguments" with that, and I am serious.
- CHAOTICROOTS0
Ya, I think I did mention I can see the difference in quality - but how far off are they really - really - and how much do we associate there perception with quality.
Agreed though - here, it was more a focus on the difference in quality.
But I tend to agree more with the point that they are all street wear now a days.
- e-pill0
chaotic-
i was discussing the realm of how the quality is being made.
mass market production is not and can not be compared to high end hand worked craftmanship.
its not a topic of which sells more or to whom.
i can care less about that. and yes if the time comes when i can be a prowd owner of a pvc label im all the way for it.
there is a real difference on how product is being manufactured. and that describes it being either mass production or high end.
...

The only people I see rocking Louis V, or Burberry, or Gucci as street wear are chavs.
Because I can guarantee, you've seen them too, because they are LV, BB, GC dipped from head to toe not in something aesthetically pleasing but the repetitive logo from head to toe.
What makes it funnier than seeing someone walking down the street (or most likely limping from a non-existant gun-shot wound), is that neither of these brands have ever made such a blatant call of attention to any of their attire.
Because it's tacky as fucking hell.
- CHAOTICROOTS0
Is LV really really producing all hand made shit? Camman. I think this is a great perception they've crafted.
Its all mass marketed as far as I am concerned.

fine then live in your own private idaho.
