Who has one? The prices look like a great deal for teh 19" LCD...

great deals.
the 2006 models are supposedly better than the 2007's, though........... and they're cheaper.
They're selling 22s for 400 bucks these days, i think?

Hey Nic... Love my 24 Inch. And the card readers along with the USB and Picture In Picture is sweet too.

got one - it's great. After reviewing many options the Dell seemed the best overal deal. Mine has a card reader and picture in picture facility.

I compared my new 2007wfp directly with my friend's last year 2001fpw (both are wide 20"s).
After plugging in both he wanted to replace his with a new one instantly. The older unit had bleeding (light falloff) visible in the corners and general feel of the new one was much nicer.
In the first months the 2007 had banding issues in the first rev, but a firmware fix took care of that (after a rant @dell forums). Turns out, a circuit used to improve hdtv quality ('faroudja' or sth) caused banding, so they just switched it off with the v02 firmware.

Mine is v02, I'd have to switch to a faroudja enabled mode to see banding.
Of course, you have to check yours carefully when it arrives as monitors tend to be lemony often, but this goes to every brand. There are different types of dell 19" LCDs, make sure you take 'ultrasharp', not 'mainstream'.
And take the bloody 20 or 24".
With $700 promo (until tomorrow!!!) for the 24" in the US, we can only bark and growl in Europe. This is about what a 20" costs here after rebate.

I love them.

hey toulouz a little bird (nairn) told me you managed to buy a monitor from dell in $ and get it shipped to the UK?? would you tell me how you made that possible??
thanks
- harlequino0
I've got a great 24 incher here at work. And the monitor's not too bad either! (Ba-dump-bump!)
Actually it's great, eliminates my need for dual montors. Atleast until I get greedy again.

toulouz,
you like that LG phone? They're just releasing that in the US.

I gots the new 20" widescreen. It's fantabulous. Very good colors and nice and crisp. I'm using the dvi plug from the macbook pro and it's fantasticly clean.
I had the old 19" before this one and I was very impressed with that one too. It only went to 1280x1024 but to my old eyes it was a nice change from the 1600x1200.

yeah I found an ebay site on ebay.com which offered to shit to uk.
it was only £260 when the uk price was £520.
it shipped flawlessly thro ups via east midlands airport, then london then delivered to my door. i had a tracker no and followed its route.
but make sure the shipper will ship to uk, only a few offer this service

I bought a 20" wide screen like 2 years ago and I love it. I snagged it for like $390 back then and it's still awesome. Before you buy visit slickdeals.net for a few weeks and before you know it they will post a deal with a coupon code and adding on some $2 item to get another $100 off or something. I even signed up for their credit card to buy it and get 10% off my first purchase. It was going for $899 when I picked it up so I can't even imagine the deal you could get now.

yo jevad. i have the 19" dell (2007) at home and i friggin love it. it's bright, crisp and clean. it has 4 usb ports on it, two on the side and two underneath so it helped clean some of the clutter usb cables from my ibook and hid them under the dell.
i ordered mine straight from dell for 267 i believe. i did some research and found them for 199 on ebay, but look close at the shipping, everyone is charging 55-70 bucks to ship it. dell charged me 11. it all worked out that ebay would only have saved me a few dollars, not to mention the paypal crap and longer shipping time. dell shot me mine in 3 days.
at work i have the 20" widescreen hooked up to a 15' macbook pro. i'm not using the vga connector and i can tell a big difference from the one at work and the one at home. the one at work is so fucking crisp i can't believe it's an lcd.
it probably has a lot to do with a shittier vid card in the ibook, but eventually i'll be upgrading my ibook to a macbook pro so that problem will be solved.
so far i'm very happy with both monitors. i love em.

excellent, thanks toulouz, did you get stung on import tax??
- rafalski0
My macbook doesn't even recognize the 20" resolution through the vga connector, so dvi only for a mac it is.
Kona, are you using the panel's native resolution at home?
- toulouz0
actually i did have to pay some tax in the end. the unit arrived then a month later i got an invoice for £45 if i remember correctly.
but i remembered the seller offering to pay half if you got caught (he actually called it a sample on the paperwork)
i emailed him a jpg of the invoice and he credited half to my paypal account.
damn decent of him imo, i neva thought he would pay up after a month had expired.

okay wow that is a great seller, can you remeber his nic on ebay? thanks for the info toulouz its much appreciated, one last question - did you have any problems with the voltage differences....so to ask for so much info!
