OK, back in the late 80's early 90's I worked in all sorts of independent music shops, and got a collection of nifty retail marketing POP posters - Nirvana, Jane's, Guns n Roses, Pearl Jam, RATM. Metallica, Danzig, REM, etc...you name it...all non-commercial retail display only. They have been kept in pristine condition in my closet for 15 years now. Do you think the collection is worth anything?

I'll trade you the lot for a pack of smokes.

Sorry mate, quit smoking about eight years ago...

i say hang them up in your place, grow your hair long again and break out the black light and pot.

You can also check out some of the posters at Wolfgang's Vault and see if you get an idea of what yours could be worth:

I say don't sell anything yet because it'll be worth more later. If you really need money or something get rid of the ugly ones.

I might not call them vintage just yet.

Thanks Jaline - I do have two of the Metallica ones he has there - for a grand total of $88! And that's just two I have..I have about 100 various ones...cool!!! Ka-Ching!!

They are worth a decent amount. Get rid of them while they're hot! That's what I would do...and maybe keep 1 or 2 and get them framed nicely.

Well, like I said these were all primarily retail marketing posters for album releases, not concert or regular retail stuff. Basically the stuff that were promotional materials for record stores.
Off the top of my head I have the posters for the marketing campaigns for these albums:
Metallica: Justice, Garage Days, Black album
Nirvana: Nevermind, IN Utero
Jane's Addiction: Ritutal ,Nothing Shocking
Pearl Jam: Ten, Vs.
GnR: Use Your Illusion, Spaghettii incident,
Motley Crue: Girls Girls Girls, Dr Feelgood
Danzig: (A giant 12 foot black ceiling poster of Danzig on a cross..hehehe)
Rage Against the machine: first album and Guerilla Radio
Rem Automatic
Alice in Chains: Dirt
Faith No More..
That's all i remember off the top of my head, but I got dozens..I'd just grab em at work back in the day...

I'd be keen on any Metallica posters by Pushead.

They were basically just poster sized versions of the album covers with the album release dates on them...and I think a photo of the band on the In Utero one..
