The "Others" are ruderless people who are at the end of the rumor-chain started by fringe members of Project Mayhem. That or theyre all the incest produced children of Christopher Atkins and Brooke Shields.

A little tip to the Lost newbies or 1st season only people--Really pay attention to the outside cultural references that creep in. Books, songs, comic books (!), discussions of shows or movies. They all mean something, and it adds to the fun.

I have it queued up on my NetFlix to try and finish before the next season starts.
I'd say thanks for all the spoilers, but I won't remember them.
I really just want to see what all the hype is, considering about 80% of the people I know that watch TV, watch this show.
