unfortunatly people ask for things who have no idea of how long it will take, this I feel is the mark of a great producer if they have a handle on time constraints. Somebody once thought it would take me two days to digitise over 30 hours of stock, I pointed out that if they wanted it done properly your looking at about four days if I work very very quickly.

maybe "the industry" needs to be better at explaining what exactly design can do for business.

Why not move into another creative diciplne like TV or Film, I hear they have really greeat hours, 5 til 5:30, or so I heard.......
If you're bummed with people asking too much of you then tell them, educate them, charge acordingly and manage your time.
