hahaha cheers v4.
i noticed it.but i love you for it, i love people who dare to go against popular beliefs/notions with arguments!
altho i think you were a bit harsh against Typo in that blue thread...

Yeah that's why I never went back. I love the guy, but i find he is a salesman for fontshop more than anything else here. I've only seen him post veer links twice. I know he has his own stomping ground. I read it. The two personas seem similar but short in presence here.
Besides, you know how many type books i could buy for $265 without going to boston?

true.
but still Typo is an excellent expert who we should not scare away. Besides that, he has a very friendly open personality.

i will write an apology, I have his address.

Crouwel, you make a good point and you're right, it is a particular form of self-consciousness - in the sense of reflecting on how one comes across - but my initial statement to v4 was in regards to some kind of fear, or insecurity, which is how he implied it. I very consciously try not to come across as arrogant or conceited or smug - I have no reason to be this way - and my conscious choice is one of not creating the sense that I'm better than anyone - because I'm not. So that is not on the same level as someone who says, I'm going to show off my abs for the world so everybody can say, damn, look how ripped that guy is.
Now, this is way too much psychoanalysis for a stupid thread, but I will add one additional thing. This is a false statement too:
" i honestly would not give a flying fuck what people think about me, as long as i feel good with it."

(Jul 27 06, 13:47)I understand the point you are making, but the truth is, you do care what other people think of you, maybe not in a working out example, but in other aspects of your life. Why do you dress a certain way, or present work a certain way? Why do you treat people a certain way? Of course because you feel good about it, but how you feel about it is in some way reflective of how you've been conditioned to feel, even if it's subconsciously.
Anyway, that's enough for me. As always, I enjoy your insights.
Cheers.
