any of you css gurus awake out there?
my box model isn't working.
http://www.paraselene.co.uk/fuziā¦
all the stuff in my layout underneath the header div is in an InnerContent wrapping div, and somthing, somewhere, seems to be shunting my three column divs that sit within it to the right a bit.
plus my stupid dropshadows are messed up.
i hope it's some simple, foolish rookie error, but it's driving me spare. i've been at this all night.
any ideas?

don't know if it has anything to do with it, but your img is 800px and your div in the css is 780px width

probably a parent's margin-left parameter that is affecting the 'children' also?
- paraselene0
okay! i'll look into both of those. thanks, guys.
- paraselene0
damn. there's nothing there. i can't find anything at all that they might be inheriting.
it's something outside the containing div, i think. at least on my mac, whenever you resize the window, the header image is always 20px or so left of centre. this is driving me spare.

I see that your content is pushed to the right a bit, but I don't see any drop shadows that you speak of. I'm viewing the site in Firefox and IE on a PC.
- paraselene0
i took the shadows out to see if it would make a difference.
but it didn't. so, yeah, just have this content getting pushed right problem.

body margin?
- paraselene0
body margin = set to zero.
:(

Not sure if it'll do anything, but do you have any type of clear going on after your 3 floated columns? It doesn't look like you do.
- paraselene0
ah! no, i don't. i'll give that a shot.

within the menu's list
why not have something
#Menu ul, #Menu li {
margin: 0px;
padding: 0px;
list-style:none;
display: inline;
}and
#Menu a {
display:block;
margin:0px;
padding:0px;}

hm. tried clearing left, right and both on my menu bar div. no luck. i never really use clear, though, nocomply, so i'm not sure if i'm doing it right. how would you set it?
- unfittoprint0
I just remember having a hard time 'taming' list menus.
and the usage of the display attribute was always present...
- paraselene0
unfit, you rule!
what do you like? weed? chocolate?
send me your mailing addy and i'll send you a thank-you!
also, thanks to all of you for taking the time to help out. i really appreciate. nt comes through in a pinch yet again.
:D :D :D

forgot. nocomply rightly reefers to the usage of some 'clearing' div, after a number of floating elements:
< div class="clear"> $nbsp; < / div >
with
.clear {
clear:both
}

umm your right shadow is still not aligned...
mac ff
- paraselene0
yeah, my shadows are still fux0red, but i'm too happy that the rest is sorted to care right now.
:)
unfit, i'll send you a mail about housing stuff. my room might be available at the end of the summer. it's big, it's cheap, the guys i live with are cool and it's on a direct bus line to bedford square, so i'll keep you posted.
cheers again for the help. have a lovely night, all.
