ah then let me explain.
here in the states during a more naive time , public pools were over run with children and adults suffering from the heat (before AC, high electricity use, global warming, etc) adults were there either with their children or to cool off themselves. Special times would be designated at these pools to allow the adults a chance to get wet in an orderly fashion with out all the playing, jumping, and splashing.
The term adult swim is very understandable in this sense
Cartoon network took advantage of this bygone addage to appeal to an older crowd letting them know these cartoons aren't for kids. also the original adult swim hall of famers are The brak show, Space ghost coast to coast, and Sealab 2021. All 3 of these cartoons are remakes from cartoons made in the 50's and 60's. so these were cartoons being resold to adults 30-40 years later.
no one was doing it. now it's the hottest trend

v4, salisae is an amazing designer, and she doesn't have to meet or justify your expectations. the fact that you seem to think you can define the qualifications of an employee of theirs is clearly based on your frustration at designing something for them - thinking it's the best thing you've ever seen (which are your words) - and then not having it picked up. I'm sorry you're an uber-fan and they didn't pound on your door, but stop being a fucking cockslave.
Personally, I think you're a talented and knowledgable designer. With that said, get over yourself and stop forcing the issue in a thread that should be a celebration of one of our own doing something admirable.

Lauigh at FUCKING loud @ thinking "Tom Goes to the Mayor" or "Minoriteam" had anything to do with Adult Swim's success.
Tom is one of the most riviled shows on [as], and Minoriteam is still relatively brand new, not to mention it's a pile of shit that is never funny.

But you're dead on about Space Ghost Coast to Coast (a brilliant brilliant show), and Sealab.
Why did they repurpose the old cartoons? Because Ted Turner bought a bunch of 60's, 70's, and 80's stock of Hanna Barbera cartoons when he started Cartoon Network, that really just sat around and played late at night.
So when Space Ghost was first starting out (well before AdultSwim) this is how the show got on, the price justification of reusing old cartoons. Because Ted Turner had already spent a small fortune buying cartoons for his network, and he didn't want to spend more.

The ratings discrepencies between shows are not big...maybe a hundred or so viewers out of 300,000. If anyone is consistently watching Minoriteam or Tom, it's residual...Before or after a show they actually want to watch.
