your mom musta been in Camus, WA right across from the PDX airport. that town is one huge stinky paper mill.
I've been here for 7 years and should have bought real estate years ago. I've seen house prices double in the last 4 years.
The work is picking up here and there is a few agencys that could help you find temp to hire work.
People here think they're so culturally diverse but the city remans one of the whitest cities in america.

Not positive exactly where my mom was staying. She mainly went to visit my brother who as I said is in Newport right now. Then her and my step-dad drove to portland for a few days I guess.
They did say that they really like Astoria. I was a picture of it on a magnet they brought home and it looks like a nice place.

This information is great, off hand could anyone tell me agencies (temp & ft) I could look into for work?

If you're looking to invest in real estate, now is the time. Prices are going up steadily but still relatively affordable.
I've got a 3.5 yr old boy and this is the most kid-friendly place ever - so many activities for kids.

One of the reasons for moving is to buy a house and settle down (I'm married). Real estate looks very affordable there compared to the 600k for a 2 bdrm apt here.
Thanks.

Yeah, Portland is pretty white. A big change from my 10 years in Oakland. But it's still a very forward-thinking area. A patch of blue in an otherwise red state.
Real estate here is still a pretty good deal, as I said. I bought 2.5 years ago and have about 300k equity in my house now. Not quite double the value, but getting closer.
I recently bought a condo on the coast with some friends for weekend fun and investment - the coast is going crazy - and it's beautiful. Not quite a 2-hour drive from Portland.

We went out there a few months ago and visited the coast. It is beautiful. The Walkingman brewery in WA was good too :)
Work-wise, I'm a telecommuting freelancer, so location isn't a big issue. I knew that WK was out there, but didn't know Razorfish was. Thanks.

I've got a friend (beach condo co-owner) who's a decision-maker at Razorfish here. Want me to pass along your website?

(Jul 25 06, 12:35)That would be great. We won't be coming out until the end of Jan., but it's never too early to start looking. Thanks.
