how to show it?

this is my question, and its a bit too simple, but here it goes:
i want to show my website around the world, do you know links where you can post it and people actually see it?
(kinda like here..its a film/art website)i have no idea how to make it because im pretty new at this.
i only had 4600 visits so far and its been out since july 10th 2006.
(i heard a good site gets 10000 a day, is that true?)anyway, thanks!

You can promote all you want, but the only way you will get that many hits a day is if your content is good.
If your content is good people will pass the link on. If its not good or very good, you will flounder.
The only other way is to advertise it.

Your site has some good stuff on it, but nothing i would pass on. Its nothing new or really funny or amazing. Just good. Seems like another portfolio site.. and those sites will only get a few thousand hits.
Try and promote your self by uploading your stuff onto youtube.com or something. But unless you have really really good content that blows people away, or you create a site that updates content every day, you will not be seeing 10k hits a day

yeah, i see what you mean and i agree with you..
the stuff on my website is nothing like that youtube hit pokemon video clip - which is quite.. cool.
its just visual travel journal.
but i would like to put it out there anyways! do you know of any sites?
and you, personally, what was the site you passed on most?
