By the tim ei got to my car my laptop was floating in six inches of water in the seat well....fuck fuck fuck...brand fucking new...
Then I threw my car keys across th eoffice and smashed the alarm thingy.

sucks to be you.

you'd have more luck getting a check from the company to fix the interior & replace the electronics if you just broke your sunroof out and reported it as a theft
fraud? sure. but better than paying 4k out of pocket

I think apartment/house insurance would cover it?

don't turn it on. let the laptop dry out for a few days.
hope it starts back up.
a buddy of mine dropped his laptop into a hot tub (don't ask). he let it sit for 4 days. turned it back on and it worked like nothing was wrong.

what kona said, let it dry completely and use a hairdryer with the heat turned off. i had a desktop pc get drenched next to an open window, poured about a liter of water out of the case. still works!
all hell is breaking loose right now in NYC.

What k0na and crew have said. It works!!! (Well..some of the time).
I've also read you can put it in an oven, set it to 100 degrees (or whatever the very lowest setting is) and let it sit in there for a couple hours. Worth a try. Still I wouldn't start it up for over a week just to be sure.

There's the link to the dude who put his camera in the oven.

if you put anything electronic in the oven, you deserve whatever bad happens
- nocomply0
Dude its only 100 degrees...that's like leaving it in a parked car.

a craftsman should respect his tools, culture has turned being a designer into something trendy
that titanium POS is just as bad as a gold grill in your mouth when it comes to fashion appeal
