So, I asked around, I joined newsgroups, I surfed newstoday archives and ask at some Apple stores... and still can't find the ultimate answer to my question.
I am ready to get a Mac Pro 17". I use mostly Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver.
Some people say wait after WWCD in August, some wait for Adobe to come up with new programs... but I need the damn machin asap.
I need hard core info about performance. Please,no "I hate mac so get a pc instead" shait.
Should I wait?

the ultimate mac should be able to replicate any type of weed like you see on the Star Trek Enterprise.
:)

Fuck, that too!!!!!
- Sven_sk0
if you need it ASAP, get it now.
if you can wait, wait for the next round of latest greatest machines/software.
its a mac. regardless of when you buy it, two-three months later they will put out something better/faster/more powerful/cooler looking/bigger/smaller that will make you wish you had waited to buy whatever you had just bought.

(Jul 19 06, 10:44)No. You should use 'Find" however.

K0na,
I used find in newstoday and the search came up nule... something must be fucked up with my... computer??I know mac will come up with something better and faster and smaller soon, but the point is,... it has to be before the end of August :(

ask your girlfriend, you sound about as decisive as her choosing a swimsuit
- AlexM0
big difference... a swimsiut cost a bit less. maybe you can give me some classes about being decisive?
You seem pretty sure about yourself.
- Sven_sk0
this is the worst thread ever.

If it has to be before the end of august, then wait until WWDC, it starts on August 7th.
Hear what they announce and then make your decision. If you get the best now it will last for at least 3/4 yrs, and you won't regret it. I bought my G5 (dual 2.0, the fastest at the time) in 2004, and I still can't believe how fast it is!
As far as the software goes, I know a couple of people that bought the intel MacBooks and they are extremely happy, however you can see and feel the difference while using non Universal apps. They are slower, but absolutely usable and productive.

These are the kind of answers one can appreciate.
Thanks Mattiadesign.

whats with the attitude AlexM? ...
- AlexM0
Not attitude here, I was asking a normal question and read some of the answers I got... just tired of kids wasting my time
- aliceblue0
but sometimes we just like to play ;-p

You're welcome AlexM.

(Jul 19 06, 11:36)some of us are tired of indecisive kids whining about... "what should i do? i don't know what to do? help me... i can't make a decision on my own... please tell me what to do"
do YOUR OWN research, make a decision and stick with it. BE A MAN FOR F*CK'S SAKE.

get the 15". the 17" is too big to take anywhere and not big enough to use as a standalone screen. i just got a 15" and a 24" dell widescreen. it's a little obscene.
- AlexM0
I never thought asking for advise to peers was wrong Sven... I never thought trying to get info from people who may be in your same situation was wrong Sven... but I am sure that being nasty and making fun of others is way out of place ... Sven :P
- Sven_sk0
if you need it NOW, get it NOW.
if you can WAIT, WAIT until the new stuff comes out.
you said you knew how apple operates with its product releases, so i'm not being nasty or making fun. i just don't get where the problem or confusion is.
it all comes down to: do you need it RIGHT NOW THIS MINUTE or in the MIDDLE OF AUGUST.
simple.
christ almighty.
- AlexM0
Sorry Sven, I didn't mean to sound nasty. It is just that is a good amount of money I have to expend and I need to pay rent... so maybe I am a bit stress and jumpy, and don't wan to kick my nuts from regret afterwards.
My biggest concern was the performance of the software in the new Mac Pro. I was trying to find out if somebody was using the new Macs with these programs and having any problems.
