That was a flavorful response however let me correct you. In fact, I will quote myself. “Look at the brilliance of taking the hip-hop beats of Gnarls Barkley and putting the hip-hop verses of Biggie on top of it.” Word for word you insolent fool. Now I shall quote you. “If you listened to the album, you'd realize that the person simply laid Biggie Acapellas over Gnarls Barkely Instrumentals.”. Well what do we have here, exactly what I said. Therefore, you clearly do see why this is brilliant. There might be hope for you after all.
As for the title of off beat rapping, there are many candidates. Rza, Game, E-40 pre hyphymovement. Anyways this is the blending of ideas; imagine if two completely different companies were to join forces. Like imaging if Time Warner were to merge with AOL or some sort of innovative idea such as that. I am talking groundbreaking innovation.

You haven't listened to it.
Let me elaborate ...
Simply laying Acapellas over Instrumentals is NOT brilliance if it DOES NOT WORK.
And by "DOES NOT WORK", I mean does not sound well, does not treat the ear pleasingly, sounds wicked off-key, is fucking wack.
So yes, it is exactly what you said, however, the two mediums here do not mesh well together in this particular case.
They could.
They really could if the person took the time to make it happen.
They did not.
The sheer absurdity of your argument is almost mind boggling.
It is NOT groundbreaking innovation in the least.
But don't worry you'll be flipping the calendar tomorrow on your "New Vocabulary Phrase of the Day" calendar ... so you can call it something else tomorrow.

this was song was so good because of the rawness, then someone decides to make it theatrical?
hilarious

I think what is wicked off key is the fact that in essence we agree with each other that this piece is innovation. Where we disagree is the specifics.

In addition, since this is so much more we are in agreement, this is almost as beautiful as a Super M Theory. Every now and then (PVN) becomes greater than its parts and becomes something greater. This is the reflection on that shiny surface the future that we all live on. I am glad you finally comprehend and appreciate the truths that have been discovered.

im with flavorful on this. the execution is very poor. what made 'the grey album' work was it was meticulously planned and executed. some of the tracks on 'the grey album' were so cut up--drum from here, bass from there, etc--that the original song isnt even recognizable. even the best track off 'the grey album', 'encore', is a cut up of two different instrumentals.
this shit is just plug-and-play. find an instrumental and then put a 'cool', 'hip' vocal over it... lets see what happens!

i got an idea: stop writing novels in the pvn.
you either like it or you don't. end.
now can we all just shut the fuck up and listen to music. thanks : )

Do you lack the vernacular to describe what you want to say and require the things you read to be short? In addition, you should consider not using expletives in your speech and more people would take you seriously perhaps?
- lvl_130
i wan't being serious and that was my point.
but thanks dad, i'd keep that in mind.
- SUPER_REAL0
I respect your sarcasm, and sincerely apologize. In fact I may take points from your attempt and start becoming sarcastic myself.
- lvl_130
by the way, i didn't figure you were being serious either...and i don't think you are. but hey, that's the beauty of the pvn. we will never know.

I am not sure weather I should be flatter or offended. I’m not sure what is so hilarious about what I say but KNOW THIS. You may question me just as the church questioned and then tormented Galileo, but a quote for Gandhi comes to my recollection. "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."
I cannot view this as a battle in view of the fact that I feel the truth is inherent and clear. I only which to pose questions and expand our communal intellect we are all improved. Don’t forget we are the information super highway, each of us act like the 1’s and 0’s; the on and off switches of this consciousness.

"I am not sure weather I should be flatter or offended. "
yeah, so the persona is obviously someone bullshiting. are you a meteorologist? whether you are or not, your forecast looks cloudy.
thanks for playing.
