(Dec 15 06, 10:02)this ignore stuff is really working. I do see 500 and it helps narrow groups down. FUck me, Darwin was right!

well... lemmy...
... if it's any of your business... Yes- I was raised a J.W... and yes... I am 'excommunicated'/'dis fellowshipped' etc.. Meaning: I'm not an active member/nor am I treated like one. And may I say this: For good reason. Good grief... look at my mouth and opinions on this website for instance... I am NOT a good example of a Jehovah's Witness or a Christian for that matter... But based on your comments... J.W.'s aren't exactly 'christian' to you anyway...
... I'm not sure what that has to do w/Global Warming or Michael Crichton being or not being a 'qualified' as a scientist.
Why are you hating on me? What... on a personal level... have I brought up about you, lemmy that you feel you need to directly interject my personal choice of religion into this conversation?
Are you angry that Mr. Crowley got has ass slapped via Crichton's novel? Is that why you single out me and my choice of religion (one I was and am exceptionally proud to be a part of... and look forward to being a part of again in the future)?
Make some sense...

(Dec 15 06, 11:48)I'll answer that for him.
That's how he discusses politics and religion. When he can't win he engages in personal attacks trying to discredit you. Sure the discussion goes back and forth a time or two in a civilized manor, but when he's backed himself into a corner and doesn't see an out WHAM, a personal attack... most of them cheap shots below the belt that have nothing to do with the conversation, or in this case, a thread title.
I know another NTer from Milwaukee who practices that tactic.
What a coincidence.

HA PonyBoy, i was and am too!
- moldero0
raised JW that is, I split when i was old enough.
I personally hate religion. but to each is own (how ever the saying goes)

Making reference to someone's religious beliefs isn't hitting below-the-belt, it's like any other stated belief or opinion.
- k0na_an0k0
PonyBoy dont you belong to one of those cracker-jack religions that real Chirstians laugh at?
Jehovah's Witness or some flakey shit like that?
Anyway, it's funny how you'd defend a junk-science critic bieng falsely accused a child fucker...
How Christian?
lemmys_wart
(Dec 15 06, 09:18)Mimio you don't think that was a cheap shot?
You don't think that statement was a little below the belt?
Please.
- Mimio0
Sure, it was a crude delivery. The hypocritical part is that Pony is defending Crichton for making a personal attack on Crowley and Lemmy just pointed that out. Pony obviously doesn't apply the same scrutiny to his religious ideas as he does his political ones.
- PonyBoy0
mimio...
... you're out of your mind.
That's not an apples to apples comparison of the situation...
... crichton's CHRISTIANITY was never brought up...
... his ability and stature as a 'scientist' is what we're arguing.
Keep trying though.
- PonyBoy0
and btw... FOR THE RECORD!!
I'm HONORED to be getting this much attention!
And furthermore... I'm also honored that in some way... some how I think I'm being equated to Michael Crichton now? No wait.. maybe i'm just being bashed for my connection w/my 'cracker-jack religion'...
I'm really confused though... so you may just want to ignore this post... possibly click my name below... then select 'ignore PonyBoy' from over in the far left column...
... :)
- k0na_an0k0
Again... have to agree with Ponyboy on this one.
- PonyBoy0
your honored for me too?!!! :D

"PonyBoy dont you belong to one of those cracker-jack religions that real Chirstians laugh at?

k0na_an0kAll religions are for the weak minded.
- Mimio0
You've misunderstood. Crichton's character and motives were brought into question. The idea that he would make a personal attack on his critics and pretend that he's engaging in civil and scientific debate is hypocritcal.
- Mimio0
Ironically, this is the same thing you do to other people. You make personal attacks, but act amazed when people do the same thing to you.
- jevad0
yeah well, his fucking books suck too.

(Dec 15 06, 13:16)I didn't write that moldero. I copied and pasted the post from lemmys_wart.
That's his little gem.
Your generalized opinion is a gem of it's own. Kinda like if I said everyone in SF is gay. It's a gross generalization that really doesn't do any good to anybody.
Why do I even bother?
- PonyBoy0
mimio, you're missing the point...
blueOne's posted article about Michael Crichton's fictional character in reference to Crowley... has ZERO relevance to to Global Warming.
It's an obvious distaste between to the two writers... and has nothing to do w/religion or Global Warming for that matter...
... which is why MY personal religion or life choice has NO BEARING on this conversation... do you understand that yet?
again... it's nice attention though. I wish I could bottle this up and store it for a lonely pony time. :)
