to clarify your analogy, if Gore knows as much about global warming as a construction worker knows about broken legs, then he is useless. maybe we just disagree about how off point he is.

the best 'option' isn't to rely on Gore... :)
... the 'best' option is to pool together a joint exploratory committee w/bi-partisan leadership both in the political realm AND scientific realm...
... and get to the bottom of the whole argument.
There's scientists on BOTH sides that contradict each other... meaning - this is something the human race DOESN'T understand... but DOES see there is a need for conservation of the Earth and it's resources...
Al Gore is one man... w/a one-sided story that hasn't changed in 30 years... even though his data says we should be 'fucked' right now in this very day...
... so - putting a load of faith in one guy cuz he seems to 'care' is pretty lame in my opinion... especially when his data has become diluted w/time.

his slide show (the original thing from the 70's) said that things are going to go bad in 10 years time...
...now... 20+ years later he turns his slideshow into a movie... with the same '10 year' message?
It just makes ... no sense. The only reason I see this guy holding onto his argument is because the media listens when a lefty whines about the environment because it seems heartfelt...
... even though its lacking in data...

oh... and I DO care about the environment... I DO believe there is plenty of truth to the theory of Global Warming...
... only problem is - we're human and the earth has been here a hell of a lot longer than us - Dinosaurs were wiped out completely...
