Anyone here ever used them? I had good results at a low cost. They feel great but the color seems off.
Check out this FAQ.
Why are RGB files preferred?http://www.overnightprints.com/m…
Does this make any sense.

I don't understand why they prefer RGB only to switch to CMYK, but RGB does have a larger gamma range than CMYK.
I have used them in the past and sometimes they are great; other times though, it's terrible.

"we ask the files to be designed in CYMK, then saved as RGB for upload, as our system automatically converts the file back to CYMK for print. This will cause less color shift during print."
CYMK...? I would never trust a printshop that converts from RGB to CMYK.. Thats properly why the colors are off

depends how theyre printed, photographic process is rgb

sounds like they are printing with inkjets rather than light.

boxcar, how are they terrible sometimes? Do you mean color wise?
I got a small test batch of 100 done and they are very different than the test prints I did at home. They are still pretty good though, just different. It makes me feel that their service is unpredictable.

Interesting.
Thanks for the link and heads up on the sometimes potentially spotty final result.
Seems kind of secondary if you're doing something quick and dirty that needs to be overnighted.
Their bandwidth blows by the way (or code behind, most likely both). I could only get the page to load once and every other time it just hangs.

I printed business cards with them, and it came out really bad. Had to reprint elsewhere.

The worst experience that I have had with them is when I submited a double sided card to them, with the exact same colour information on the front and back.
The front and back were two completely different colours.
Oh, and their letterhead printing is awful. We did a test run with them, and when looking through the product, it was litterally a flip book from light to dark and dark to light (in terms of colour intensity). There was even a blank sheet of paper in with everything else.
That being said, everything I have done for personal projects have come out fantastic. It only seems to be clients that have trouble with them, and I do not understand why.
I think it just boils down to the day and who is managing the presses.

i agree. total hit and miss. did one that was simple two color and it was great. did another that had close registration and you could see it was badly registered. one time color came back totally wrong (lime green instead of yellow) and they re-printed no charge. defeats the 'overnight' part with all the reprinting they probably end up doing.

I found this list of reviews on Amazon mostly with complaints about unpredictable color problems.
