Anyone know of a fudge where you can use a PowerMac G5 OS X install disc on a PowerBook G4?

Just run it?
I had the Apple store put OSX on my iBook the other day and the nice people left their OSX DVD in there for me ;)

i bought my iBook during the transition from 10.3 to 10.4, and it came with 10.3 installed and a 10.4 DVD that will install on any machine. however, when i bought my G5, the 10.4 DVD that came with that will boot any machine, but will only install on a G5, and most DVDs that come with a machine are like this. it is not the same retail installer you buy separately.

(Jun 30 06, 07:35)Not quite that simple... already tried and on reboot it says that the software isn't compatible with the laptop (or something like that)...
Just wondered if there was a way around it.

it's processor specific so you can run a G4 OSX cd on a G3 but you can't run a G5 OSX cd on a G4 or Intel.
