I bought a macbook pro
2ghz
1gb of RAMI am running all legit software...
CS2 Professional
Macromedia SuiteNo video software...
It is SLOW AS FCUK
Do you think this is a universal program issue or the fact I need more RAM
I appreciate you can never have enough RAM...
ALSO, when CS3 come out do you think it will be intel based software thus my studio imac (that works like a dream) will have to stay on CS2
You get the idea
Any thoughts??

Think it's because the CS2 stuff isn't Universal Binary / intel. Unless you actually said that in your post, in which case ignore me.
I was going to get one but got a top spec powerbook just before they went intel....£980 too, which was cheap as hell.

yea adobe on macbook pro blowz.
the guy at the apple store said he heard the adobe update wold not be out until second quarter of 07 - holy shit.
blowz.
- karlo0
second quarter of 07!!
FCUK ME!
So do you agree with me that not intel based macs will probably have to stay on CS2 forever as the updates will probably not work on non intel based macs??

I agree (think) - non-intel macs
have nowhere to go - but staying with CS2.

you are comparing to macbook pro to what? G5? G4 powerbook?
didn't you know all adobe products run on rosetta emulator before you buy?
- karlo0
shafted again then!!
Nothing ever changes...

i ahve the same machine with max ram.
my is fast...cept for adobe but that is still fast.
cs3 will be next year or something

I was about to buy an intel mac and just at the last minute, called a buddy of mine and he told me about the rosetta thing – hence us hitting the refurb store and getting one pretty cheap. By the time my powerbook phases out I'll have enought money to get a new intel one and the industry will have moved over – I think it'll be a while yet. I work with people who still use freehand!

oh wait i have the intel mac...not the macbook.

just run cs2 in winXP... thats the solution for now.

I just got the 2.16 MacBook Pro with 2Ghz ram and it's blazing fast.
Blazing hot too but that's another story.
*flips Filet that is cooking just above the esc keyYou have to ask yourself... it blows in comparisson to WHAT? The g4 you just came from?
I don't have a keyboard yet or mouse and I just can't bring myself to bitch about it cause I'm on this lightning fast machine as in comparisson to what I came from.
Enjoy it.

I have the macBook Pro 2.0 with 1gig ram and run Adobe CS with no problems. Havn't tried it with CS2 though.

(Jun 28 06, 06:55)that is funny...and congrats kona on your new intel puter.
its funny because i came from a G3 ibook clamshell off macos8.6.
and the intel is so lightning fast for me it was very noticeable.
i use a G5 tower fully loaded and maxed on everything at work and i have been having crasing issues. the only issue i have with the inttel is that it gets hot, and the short battery life.
other than that its the best investment i have purchased in a longtime.
- Chief0
universal apps will run natively on both intel and powerpc macs, so you'll still be able to upgrade the adobe apps in the future.

the intel comes with a remote control for all your i[apps].
and a built in camera that is like half a sec off real time.
and the intel macs come built in with an invisible folder of 1million images of porn.
and the intel macs can heat up a whole continent of people with siberian blood.
