i have some trouble with imported illustratorfiles in indesign. (CS2)
in illustrator when i have a shape with a filter 'dropshadow' and place that illustratorfile in indesign over a coloured shape, i get a white box around the area where the dropshadow is in the illustrator file.
but the box isn't there at all when i view the illustrator file in illustrator.screeshot with explanation:
any ideas?
need to solve thisproblem, 4,000 brochures going to be printed soon...

does it print?

either save the illustrator as an eps, version 10 or 8 or;
View/Display Performance/High Quality Display

are you saving the illustrator file as a native .ai file or as an .eps file?
try embeding the image from the links palete in indesign.

To be honest..... never ever trust in this filters..... it's only for layouts!
Try to solve this on Photoshop..... You might think it's crazy, but it's safe.... prepare everything then import to photoshop by layers then you can do everything...The file get's a bit heavier.... but there'll be no problem....
See ya....

indesign document quality is set to high, and the illustrator file is an .eps.
and yes, when i make a cmyk inktyetprint it is also there...

i just tried to import a dropshadow (tiff) and multiply it instead of the dropshadow filter.
but still the same problem when imported in indesign. strange eh.

is there a check box for transparency when you export your eps from illy?
- jakeyj0
draw over it in indesign

personally I would never trust any of that complex filter/transparency/effects and would just flatten it in photoshop and import an eps from there.

Just add the drop shadow to the vector car in InDesign instead of doing it in Illustrator.... or do that piece of artwork in Photoshop as someone else suggested... this is an easy fix.

i'll do something like that chz
