I've had enough with godaddy.com, not that it doesn't do what it supposed to do, register domains, but the way they try to sell you crap on every click. So what do you suggest in terms of good service and reasonable prices?

always used 132reg.co.uk nevr a problem simple to use and no human interferance.

I've always used www.namehog.net, they're not the cheapest but I've always been happy enough dealing with them and the guy that does the support is quick to respond and friendly.
