Has anyone used a ::cheap:: wholesale-screenprinting company that prints on American Apparel (or their other lines)?
I've Googled and have also seen the links on the AA site. I wanted to gather some additional feedback/testimonials from you cats.
Kinda related to this thread:

if you are going for cheap, can the AA shirts, they are extremely overrated.

burp
excuse me
- acescence0
they may be overrated (imo they do fit better) but people know the name and look for it.
find a cheap printer that will let you supply the stock, and buy it straight from a wholesaler yourself

IMO, those shirts are cheap and lame. people say "they are lightweight"
no they are fucking cheap.

AA are definitely crap and I think people are starting to avoid them.

When I ran the screen printing company everyone wanted Hanes Beefy Tees and shit. heavyweights.
Not some second-rate shirts.
That is some serious marketing when you can sell an inferior product and people think it is better.

i like the light tees cuz my motor runs hot. but yeah, you're right beefy tees were the shit back in the day, it's just trends. i wouldn't say they are so vastly inferior though like some h&m shit. obviously a lighter weight fabric is going to wear faster than heavy. if you're concerned with clothing lasting forever you should just wear raw denim coveralls.

every aa shirt i have fits differently, and they all get this orange discoloration around the neck after about 2 weeks. i want to buy shit made in america, but the $9 guatemalan mossimo plain tagless from target are far superior.

I wear my denim coveralls with one side hanging down, like kriss kross

that jak prints place looks kinda cool.

Yes we've printed several batches of T's on AA shirts. We do it because (maybe not today but 1-3 years ago) printing on AA would help us sell product. That's what people wanted.
You can get hooked up with the wholesale price which should only be like $4-6 per shirt instead of the $15 you'd pay in the AA store. However for the wholesale price you need to buy a minimum of like 10 or 12 shirts in 1 single color.
As far as the actual screening goes, we've just had friends that hooked it up so I can't really quote prices on that.

Awesome. I knew I could count on NT folk.
All things considered, I think I'll still go with AA. I've always liked their stuff (going back to the yellow site). -- tagless; nice cuts, collar and seams.
The band might scoff at the price but at least I've done some research.
All: thanks much. Jaline: I think I might use those guys. BTW, here's the design (Transfers):
