what are you guys talking about not using a grid and stuff moving all over? I've resized the page to as many resolutions as possible and nothing's moving.... are you talking about the very first page to choose whether to do the intro or nor?
The rest of it - ie the place to select images is on a grid.

Simple is better for a portfolio. Show your creativity in your work, not with all the bells and whistles on your site.

i think its because your site isn't centered horizontally properly.. you have your background image sitting in the back and its... 1262x875

exactly why i detest flash.
- version30
don't blame flash dude, not its fault
- brandelec0
not a bad start.. try not to do so much, may be stick to one color +white and drop flash altogether.. uve really got nothing else to present but ur portfolio, which is most important so make that easy and viewable

well i gues i can't take screenshots from the aux monitor

you need to buy the book "the designer the grid". things dont line up correctly in the site. for example your links "visual propaganda" or whatever dont line up. they look almost aligned, but not aligned. it looks like an error. i dont like the names, either. "visual propaganda" sounds like you're a high school kid trying to use buzz words to make your work seem cooler.
please get rid of the intro, it doesn't do anything for you.

1) Think a little about who this site is for. If you're trying mainly to use it to get a job, I'm afraid many employers will look on this site as unprofessional (if they even get to the portfolio after that long, tedious intro). You have some corporate-looking work in there, but it's mixed in with pictures of college students at parties and music by your band.
2) It's strange that you are using Flash but then when I click on a portfolio piece it opens a pop-up. It's like the worst of both worlds. If you're going to use Flash why not use it for the UI of your portfolio? True, the minimal thing is in right now but this site isn't really hitting the zeitgeist anyway, so why not have some eye candy in there?
3) The colors really aren't working for me? The dark blue by itself just isn't exciting. A dark background can work, but you should consider using a highlight color or two, for the type perhaps, to make things pop.
4) Choose a different typeface. This one says "the future circa 1993."

- was how it was, however too many people were saying "oh look colors lawls lawls", and I dropped that out. I appriciate the comentary ukit, gave me some things to think about. Re: including the club shots - I included them to show versatility in being able to shoot in different environments and different conditions.

i'll be honest with you. if you gonna look for a job with this folio, you will have a hard time.
the intro too long and all the blah blah means really nothing to the companies who are looking for candidates.
you need to clean up the site a lot and organize better. with all the real estate and you need a popup? that's pretty bad. also, pay more respect and care to typography. also, the size of your stage is odd. once upon a time, greeks invented the golden ration. maybe you may wanna look up on that. it'll guide you to map the stage in a better proportion.
i believe that less is more and god is in the details.
anyways, good luck.
best,

I think tkmeister sum it up pretty good. grids are good things, and later you can break them but in a way that works. which comes with time. =o)
keep up the good work. ciao.

the website could have been 400x200... intro... what intro? and didnt seem like there was any thought or design gone into it...

Helix, well, I know you saw my posts as you are linking my captures.
I put them up for a reason, to show you how big and annoying that thing is, and gave NT as the example to compare against as I know you visit this site
Do you honestly think i view the web at 1680x1050?!?!
FUCK NO.
i have scrollbars on the side and the bottom when i open your site
so i'm pretty sure that people with avg monitirs are suffering as well, which means you are suffering
why would they want you to work for them if they think your work is crap?
less is more is a great philosophy
your skills displayed thus far are not worthy of hire
go simple with css positioning and really put an effort into your color selection
you might even surprise yourself

... So sorry mate, this is all so 1999
and it's not even done well. You really think about your work, what you showed is not up to much! typography is bad and all pop-up stuff is just not well excuited at all. don't get wrong pop-ups good when used well!
Take this down and restart it again, there is enough material
out there look at!With that portfollo you not find any work!!!

I dont like.
Your strength is in illustration, not flash... I'd just do a common 1 pager and let the work speak rather than some poor flash.
