Our client insists on using html style bold and italic tags with an embeded font in Flash.
I am a bit lost there, is it possible? I know it works with device fonts, but he wants it on the nice embeded font.
As soon as I use those tags, the text disappears.
Any ideas, links?

i did this once and it was a bit spotty, but you have to embed the bold and italic versions of the font, using the b and i tags won't work. then use

do you embed in the library?
would font face refer to the linkage name of the font in the library?thanks

Doesn't using css command only work with system fonts?
For embedding more than one system font, you could get into a world of trouble, let me tell you.
One decent solution can be found here: www.sharedfonts.com.
Before going deeper into the Flash shared fonts world, you should check that out, it will save you heaps of time.

i think i just used it in a single field so i entered a character from each face in the field and set it to export all. then i used the face attribute of the font tag to switch between faces in the field, in place of where you'd put the b and i tags.
i haven't used flash in a couple years though, so my memory is not so good, and i'm sure there are better ways to do this now.
villek's sharedfonts link might be the way to go
