That river isn't painted you freaks. Even in Dylan Coles piece, its the photograph base layer.
Thats a photograph you dolts.
Digital Matte painting is painting on top of a reference photo with Photoshop & 3D renders to make a surreal scene.
Everything on top is Photoshop an 3D. Thats how matte paintings are done. With a photographic PLATE layer. And this plate layer was provided on the CD for use.
I encourage you to buy that Tutorial DVD and see how its done. You might actually learn a skill other than sitting on forums and pointing out how shitty everything is.
Do some reasearch before you start throwing accusasions around. Cool your jets and go back to normal bashing.

Its okay, its okay.....calm thyself. Wanna know our secret? Wanna know why the whole thing is successful. I will let you in on it all.....here we go...............are you ready, cause here it is:
We create from the heart. We dont care what anyone says about what we do. We do what we want, and we never saved enough for the swim back.
While everyone focused on one-page portfolios, eagle crests, and minimally whimsical websites....they did one thing: they appeased the elitest design community....but, the unfortunate part is....thats ALL they appeased.
Talk to any normal person, and they could care less that your eagle crest logo is cool like the rest of the "cool design crowd". We may be sci-fi lame, we may be corny, we may not use helvetica in some whimsically minimalistic way that gets us posted on ComputerLove....but goddamnnit we move people emotionally. When people see our stuff they have a deep emotional reaction. Good or bad, we'll take it. Thats what its about, not making Newstoday kids happy.
And thats our secret. If you guys want to make the big bucks, there it is....front and center. Feel free to steal our plan.....I challenge you to.
