I saw 24 Hour Party People and I just didn't get it. I understood what was going on but I still didn't understand the humour of the plotline. Maybe it's because I wasn't really around when those things were going on but who knows. I'd like to think I understood them but I didn't. I guess you could say I'm too young to get it but I want to think otherwise lol.

ummm Jaline Factory Records was hands down one of the most influential labels in my childhood and 24 hour party people captured that scene pretty well. Maybe the Brit humor didn't go over well for you, but the soundtrack rocks. I'll forgive you anyways as I know you have good movie taste.

Good call with the ET soundtrack.
Danny the Dog OST by Massive Attack is good.
My favourite film score, not sure if this qualifies as a sountrack, would have to be Taxi Driver.

There seems to be three kinds of soundtrack to me:
1) classical score by a single composer
2) Soundtrack made up of songs by popular bands etc
3) soundtrack composed by a band or non-classical artistme favourites for each category:
1) most john williams soundtracks, spielberg won't use anyone else.
2) Easy Rider – The Weight by Smith, Steppenwolf, Hendrix, the Electric Prunes etc.
or 'Round Midnight
3) Paris, Texas by Ry Cooder.

Bah my eyes have deceived me. Who the hell is Jalime and why are they stealing your name? Thank goodness it wasn't you I was worried for a minute. By the way interesting movie that has a good soundtrack is Movern Callar. A girl wakes up to find her boyfriend dead and a mix tape left with his favorite music. She then goes on a road trip using his mixtape as the guide.
