It especially sucks if you have to wear casual dresswear for work. I have to go shopping soon to find more thin things because I won't be able to stand it any longer. The people who are still wearing suits and jackets for work in this weather must be dying.

where are you working now jaline?
-i've been out of the nt loop for a bit : (

Justice Canada. Lots of lawyers and suits and stuff. Luckily most of the women dress down a bit more.

It has been funny watching the dress code deteriorate in my office since I started here.
It used to be business casual now it is shorts and adidas.

I guess you can't escape the government work up there hey.
I'm doing freelance at a place and i've slowly been getting away with more casual attire everyday, might break out the shorts by the end of the week. It's too hot.

Yeah, eventually you can break out into more casual stuff, but no jeans allowed still. I'm thinking of buying some black ones or really dark ones and see if I can get away with it.
I can just apply once for every government job in Ottawa and Gatineau and they'll call me if they have an opening according to my skills. They did twice in the past two years, so that's good. It's not exciting everyday but the people are really nice, the opportunites are vast, and the pay is great.
I still design on the side.

Why don't people like hot weather? It's been a long cold lonely winter.

(May 30 06, 13:23)Oh, you know. People hate the heat once it gets unbearable (yet we can still bear it) and the same goes for the cold weather.

The heat isn't bad, it is the dew point I can't stand.

I used to work at Sears and I had to wear a tie and all that shit.
Now, I work for myself and I wear whatever the hell I want to.
I make almost exactly 5 times the money I made at Sears selling TV's and I had to wear a tie and now you're lucky if I've got pants on when I answer your call.
Even when I go to meet with clients I wear jeans and a white shirt, that's my uniform.
To hell with dressing up, they're not hiring me as a model.
I know not everyone can get away with it but if I had a job where I had to be "biz-cas" then I would refuse or quit. I can't work when I'm uncomfortable in my clothing.

here come the Sears stories again..

"ya see, that's the key to life Mike. One time, at Sears, . . ."

"I was up to my eyeballs in televisions!"
- Jaline0
It's because I work in the government that I can't dress very casual. Whatever, that's what after work and the weekends are for. Plus, sometimes it feels good to get dressed up with pretty shirts and everything, haha. Although sheer, for this weather.

"See, it's just like selling TV's. Ya gotta know your Sony's from your Panasonics."
You should talk to my new brother-in-law, he thinks my theory that the world is inheritantly racist based on the microcosmic example of the Gerrard Square Sears employees is hilarious.

now on fridays, instead of casual frieday we all wear jelly shoes and hypercolors.
