i know there have been a million threads for "how much to charge for ______", but what are the best resources to figure this out on my own?
the graphic artist guild guide seems more appropriate for agency pricing. are there any bidding sites you can kind of feel out for typical pricing?
also, what are some good resources for basic freelance contracts? any books? any sites?

there was an awesome article on how to best determine freelance pricing .. i have it bookmarked at work .. showed up in a thread here but i couldn't tell you which one.

$50+/hr x number of hours = price

really what ive found is, after doing a few projects, how much is your time worth (very subjective)? how much will you be happy getting (and not feel screwed) for the amount of work you plan on putting into a project.
standard rates are impossible to come by because everyone has a different way they work.
youll probably be underpaid the first few projects.
maybe start at $50/hr and go from there.

makes sense. i definitely need a better grasp of how long projects typically take me to estimate like that.
what about forms/contracts? mainly for laying out timetables/# of revisions/payment schedulek/etc...

Ask the client what their budget is.
budget/hours = your hourly rate.

i include stuff like that in my proposals and contracts. check out the aiga site, they have great contracts you can take apart/customize.
