so, does anyone have any advice in terms of undergrad vs. grad? It seems like undergrad would be better for really getting a solid foundation...but I do already have a BA

Wow, I am proud of you NT'ers! This is the nicest, most professional blog I have read here to date. I am surprised no one has asked for photos of Neon in her tutu yet.
Keep it up kids... (insert tear rolling down cheek)

Just lie on your resume and say you have whatever degree you desire.

there are plenty of self-taught designers. If you have organic talent (obviously you do), and a passion for the work then just keep pushing. Read everything you can get your hands on, take typography classes (you'd be amazed how many come out of design programs with little to no understanding of typography), strive to be better every day.

would you consider moving for a school?
- neonbeige0
I know... the picture isn't very exciting... just thought it might be appreciated...
In terms of moving for school... possibley. I live in Brooklyn now, so I would either stay in NYC or maybe go to California.

stay in NY
i think NY has few of the great schools for design
i am thinking about parsons when i get there

At 23, I'd say go get your masters. Put in the time now if this is what you want to do, so your education will never be an obsticle. A masters degree will only open doors for you.
I have a few friends who have their masters now, and doors just seem to be opening up for them.
I'm 28 now and am thinking about more school before I have commitments in my life that won't let me go to school, like a sparkle jr.

haven't read all the posts but if you are working in the field for 4 years maybe you could skip "going back" (which could turn out to be a very boring experience) and try to "go forward", e.g. some post-grad or special training some unis accept portfolios and custom exams, i think. or maybe skip a few years after an evaluation.

Advice from one balerina to another:
Going back to school to learn things that you already know would be a drag.
