If you take the best tools and capabilities of Freehand MX and the best drawing tools of Illustrator CS 2 and you add more interactive tools, support to multi-page documents, VBA macros, page imposing, color separation previews, precise node editing...etc you get CORELDRAW X3 . I am happy to know Freehand is dead, I like Illustrator CS 2 above all the 3D option, but for working everyday in design works my choice is CorelDRAW ,I recommend you to try CorelDRAW X3 seriously and I am sure you won´t want to hear from Freehand again.---
wtf

pure speculation!

So where is the press info relating to this?
Is there a better link out there?

If they dont pay serious consideration to the strong points of Freehand and build them into Illuatrator then they are crazy, there are many things that Freehand does either better or Illy does not at all. I have begun switching to Illy but I still find myself doing certain bits in Freehand and then exporting/importing back into Illy which is ridiculous. So many good, time saving, ease of use benefits in freehand I am sad to see it go, not sad to see the shitty postscript go but hey..

I would love a multi page feature in illy. Of course indesign would be the answer here.

They're not going to come around your house and take Freehand off you though... so don't panic...
You'll just be like one of those dusty people in a cardie 'tinkering' around with Corel Draw and clipArt
