Yo, I really don't know much about this blogging game, but I feel it's time I do something with it. I know that there's stuff out there like blogger and type pad... but is there a way to use blogging software and get it published directly to your own personal site? I really don't care for the thought of posting to blogger.com etc., I just want it under my own domain. How the hell do you go about doing that? I've seen other people's blog on here like scarabin's and jevad's and kOna's... if I'm not mistaken, you guys just basically do that in html/xml and apply your css to it? I could do that I guess, but just wondering if there were any other services out there that I could use.

Usually you have to pay for something like that.

There are many solutions. I took the default wordpress package (available for free) and applied a couple css and php edits and made my own graphics. It sits on its own domainname: http://www.preciousfailure.com/
Its not hard to do if you're comoftable with that stuff. You'll need a server that supports php/mySQL to host it on your own domainname.
If you're really interested there is a book out called blog design solutions writted by some decent peeps. Search for it on Amazon.

OK, cool. Thanks Jaline. I was in that site, but to be honest, I really couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. So many options in there...

I notice quite a few blogs out there look alike, I think the template all comes from the same place.
I update mine when it's conveinient, although if you do it my way you really have to set time aside to update it and such. Kinda sucks but it's ok when you have the time.
