how bout asking them which they like better, papyrus or comic sans.

When the company I previously worked for was interviewing for a another designer, I asked the the people during their interview what their favorite font was, and the two most popular answers were:
1. "ummmm.... I don't know... ummmm"
2. "comic sans... I like that font"Thankfully after interviewing 4 people whose portfolios/answers to questions made me want to tell them to go into accounting, I got this answer from the last person we interviewed:
3. Meta.

In all my interviews, I don't think I've ever been asked a specific question like these. Most have been natural conversations about my experience and about the company.

sorry for the serious answer but 'tell us about yourself' will probably be the only question you need to ask to get a real feel for someone
