Is this a joke?
- Initiator0
not a joke at all. Seriously, the client picked out a template and agreed to pay $7,500. They will wire me 50% tomorrow and I will have it done by the weekend.

LOL - good for you
Do me this favor, keep good track and see how many hours it takes to rework it.
You might be better off just using the .psd and reCoding the html

Karma has a funny habit of catching up with people like you.
- Initiator0
karma must be on my side. Thus far I have spent 4 hours reworking the purchased template (using the .psd files and re-coding the .html). I am WAAAAY ahead of the promise date (but I won't let the client know). Now, I can spend plenty of time on "valued added" things for the client.
At $7,500 / 4 hrs. that is $1,875 per hour! Not bad at all, I can live with that.
I really do know what some of you were saying about Template Monster being the "enemy". But, as long as it works and the client is hard-pressed for time why NOT go that route?
Bottom line: client picks the template, I mark it up and implement. It is a win-win situation and the client gets a pleasurable/smooth experience.

So you clients is 'buggin' about Template Monster but is willing to pay 7.5K? Why would they pay that for canned design any other company can use? I don't know why I am bothering. I think you are just trolling anyway.
- Initiator0
the client is not "buggin'" about Template Monster. Try reading the first couple of messages.
The client is hard-pressed for time and loves a particular template (which they have bought as of yesterday). The challenge for them was implementation and "changing it up".
Well, the "changing it up" as it turns out was VERY easy for me (maybe due to the fact that the client is easy to work with).
Why would they pay $7,500 for something that other companies could potentially buy off Template Monster? You dummy! I "changed it up"
Took only 4 hours (so far).

from the looks of your site, i think it would be best if you used template monster anywhos. werd on making some cash though, can't beat it at over a 1000 and hour. i think we've all had those jobs that we killed on, but really for the most part TM is child of satan.
when i am king they will be the first to die.
that is all.......

If your client is stupid enough to buy a template and then pay you that amount of money to muck it up then I say you deserve one another. I like to see this evolutionary balance in action where the all the stupids end up together in perfect union.
- Initiator0
if being desperate is being stoopid....well then, stupid is as stupid does.
The client saw a template on Template Monster. It fits with what they wanted (only missing their specific branding). I was chosen to architecht their branding and to implment the website on a hosting provider of my choice (Media Temple).
And if by "muck it up" you mean to give the client what they want then yes! Yes I did muck it up. Mucked it up enough to earn $7,500 in less than 5 hours.
But then I do not need to preach to you about the basics of business and how to make a buck (although that's not what it's all about for me -- it is nice to pay the mortgage in a comfortable state of mind).
Hey, I did like the cyber tribute to your mom!
