just a general question, im making a business card right now I usually try to stick to font thats at least 7pt size if the type is reversed on the card (white type, red card). Just wonder if 6pt font is an option? anyone know if its safe or am i safer going for 7pt, I dont have control of whos printing it they have a printer they work with.
Let me know.

you know that fonts look different right? so that might be fine for eurostile extended bold but maybe not palace script.

trade gothic is quite light. i'd say 6pt is pushing it for a card, especially reversed.
and if it's important details like name/email etc, i'd say minimum 7.5.
IMHO!

for business cards, i never use a font at a size which is unreadable at arm's length. 6pt trade gothic is bordering on making your card recipient think they're going blind.
If you do go through with it, just make sure your letters are spaced well enough.

ask the printer?

6pt is OK reversed out of a PMS. If it's in CMYK forget it.
If you've got a ton of stuff to put on it, try a different format?
gate fold?

6pt on a flooded card is going to be tough if the font is light or thin. You need a bold or black font if you plan to reverse that small.

I also forgot you need to add kerning to make it more readable.

THX, im going to use 7pt font. I think thats safe of a PMS, reversed.
