yeah, enbedded objects (like flash) always sit on top over everything else when dealing with css. Do some google searching. I found a hack for it about a yr ago.

Sorry no screenshot of safari today. My coworker who uses the mac is gone and i can't log in to her machine.
Basically what happens is that the drop down will work, but then when you move the mouse to scroll over individual list items, the items will hide behind the flash again.
Also..this is just from my experience with regular flash movies, not siFR..although i don't think that makes a difference.
Have not checked on opera, but i will one day when i have time.

Anyone have a fix for the z-index issue with siFR or any flash object?
I have a CSS pop out nav that I want to display over the siFR text.

set your wmode to transparent in the flash code to use css z-indexing
version4I set it to opaque and got it to work...maybe it works with either as long as you define a wmode??
Also...even if you get it to work it will be kind fuggged in safari. IE/FF will be smooth though.

do you have a scrrenshot of what happened in safari?
is everything just sitting on top?
my example uses trans so i can see through to the background
when i tested this in opera on pc no trans was supported and everything floated to the top
