I have just learned that the company I work for is for sale.
I believe there is a buyer. I am the new guy and have no incentives to stick it out.
I have not been offered any 'incentive' to stick it out, but I hold down a pretty major position [management] within the company. Been here one year.
The old guys all have 'option packages'....I don't want to seem like a mercenary with the 'give me some incentive or I will resign' thing.
The market is strong and I can find other work right now. What to do?

so get the fuck out of there.
trust me, they aren't looking at you like you're a valuable resource

kyle wasn't kidding.
is there anything you can do other than try and talk to someone above you that may have more knowedge as to the outcome of the buyout, someone with knoweldege of the process
if you are unsure I would suggest you shop other jobs nd be honest as to why you are looking
maybe you'll find better pay in the process

There are two thoughts that I have:
[1] - maybe, just maybe the big boss will hit me off for staying.
[2] - There is no way they will hit me off for staying so I should just get going.

yeah ask for some incenttive to stay
have a job lined up before that

I have some money saved, a recruiter on the ready, and am not worried about finding another gig.
I am writing my resignation....

dude, i'd still give them the chance to give you incentive. If things worked out real well that might include severance bonus in case the new guys want to drop you. It could be easy for the others to agree to that while they stil lhave power to.

dinky knows, listen to him

get an agent.
I'm serious, get an agent
- dinky0
because of uncertain future its dicey to say you quit
cause they might say okbye
cause they themselves are not sure about whats gonna happen

before you resign, have other offers lined up and get ready to talk.
so u have something to fall back on without touching your saving.

I think I want to leave the denver area anyway [read: cowtown].
Okay how do I bring this up to sound un-mercenarylike and yet get the best deal I can?
