hotels are pricy
i asked about it and most recent price i got was 2k a week

i think the price of apartment has stablized somewhat and showing some decline too. i feel it'll drop a bit in a year or two. buying an apartment is definitely a 10+ years investment especially now with price being so high.
i need 100k for the downpayment.

5yrs? some fatass said the same thing a while back

i don't think the 5yrs rule works anymore. the hot real estate investment time is over.

i'm going up at the end of teh month to look at places... concentrating in williamsburg, greenpoint and bushwick. we want a bigger loft space - 1400 sq feet or something that isn't somewhere we'll have to be worred about getting broken into 24-7. any suggestions besides craigslist and the NY times site to look?
some of these places look too nice to still be available - almost like they post them to get you to call then they say "we have THIS instead.."

dont move to brooklyn. its a shithole. i live in williamsburg and i am moving to the lower east side. live in the city. its worth the money.

how big of a shit hole is it? i've had people telling me park slope in brooklyn was a shithole and it was just as nice if not nicer than the les. the only benefit i see to being over there is the shorter commute.
how much more expensive in general is the les over williamsburg?
