yeah that is where i sit and chat with you guys. my husband made it for me. he was able to put all the G5 parts inside of the TIE fighter base there. if you look closely you can see.
i'm such a lucky bride.

So what do you want as a wedding gift, Shari?

I think most regular workplaces go for PCs and designy ones go for MACs, so know both.
I currently use a PC.

i used to work in publishing (magazines) and we used macs.
how i work in architecture, and we use PC's (mainly just so everyone in the office is on the same platform).
PC's have their advantages (few). but i do prefer working on mac. but for some reason i work faster on pc...

does it need to be serius... this topic comes so often

always PC... never gone to the dark side to "test the waters"... in the end, the PC is like that parent that will welcome you back with open arms and unconditional love... no matter how many PC parts your mac needs to feel like it can keep up with the competition...
...back to you Bob

I was thinking about this as I got up this morning to face work.
I use Windows on PC at work and mac os at haome. although it's the same old programs on both, I prefer the way the operating system works around and with the apps on a mac. it just feels more fun and pesonable on a mac. but I'm glad I use both - it balances the argument a bit for me ;-)

i use a mac to show clients that i look like a designer
but i do all my real work on a pc because i suck at design

I'm glad my honest question actually came around to honest answers. Thanks friends... I am buying a macbook tomorrow .. and getting all the stupid mac os out of it..putting in some man-ware xp
in case anyone else is looking around .. the only good laptop hardware with a good price is the macbook.

i've been on pc since i had to use DOS to play zork and hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy text-based games

i have been having to use macs recently for production. they slow me down. i am used to using CTRL to jump around by word increments, but this changes with different programs on a mac. option with safari, cmd with indesign. this is terrible. over all the operating systems are so close, especially at the barebone level.
hopefully the stigma/stereotype that designers only use macs will fade and there will be one computer that can run both.... this is where mac technology is superior, pc's aren't doing this yet. macs should come with more than a one-button mouse, standard. it makes me feel so, so, incapable of understanding the complexities of the machine.... and that is bullocks...
mac's are hype. a salesperson at compusa said that macs have superior hardware. and for the most part that is correct. but high end machines like falcon northwest, boxxtech, alienware, and dell's xps (despite the lack of AMD support) give mac's a run for the money, that's for sure....
my 4 cents...

mac at home pc at work...
kind of works well becuase xp is ugly and keeps me focused on the job. My mac is way too comfortable and I end spending hours reworking things because its fun.
