yeh thanks, sorry about that

keep applying man, you'll get there, your stuff looks great for 18 years, can't think why you'd be ditched out of a foundation course...

i was just thinking the same thing! what kind of nutjob foundation wouldn't want you?
keep at it; you're bound to get onto a good one.

thanks guys, i think its just them being biased towards the more fine arty types, the painters etc...
but maybe thats just me being bitter.
it doesnt seem like theres much i can do about it at the moment.
but a reference of mine is going to call them up and maybe persuade them.what a sad event on such a sunny day

Where did you apply? I can think of a few places you could try.

I saw your site a while ago when you posted it and I thought it looked good so don't lose heart just yet.

I didn't get accepted on my foundation... so i had to travel everyday for 3 hours...
.. complete waste of time... made us do 'mark making' by drawing with stick dipped in ink... fucking hippies...
i ended up putting all my a-level work in my foundation final

i applied at brighton city college.
i can only do a foundation around brighton, and this seems to be the only one near here...

Yeah, I gotta be honest, looks great.
Have yout thought about applying direct to a Uni? Sometimes they let people in that are good, perhaps the Foundation think your too developed... Thats the only thing I can think of.
But yeah, keep applying, and maybe try direct to a Uni.
Good luck.

i'm an ignorant american... what's a foundation?
(speak slowly please)
- kelpie0
pick yuor uni well though, or you'll end up in the same 'mark making' hell Engage was on about ;)

i wonder if it'd do you any good to go see them or call them up and ask why they didn't accept you. it's a good strategy for jobs you don't get, just so you know exactly why.
- Engage0
you're probably too late to apply for uni i'm guessing?
If I was in your position... I'd try and get a job and some experience... and then apply for a uni / college at the right time later in the year/early next year...
I think you'll learn a lot more... why do a foundation? you've got a foundation of work already

Be bold, move away from home.

Can't believe they didn't let you on a foundation course with a folio like that. I didn't even know what graphic design was till I got onto a foundation course.
Did you make a pass at your interviewer or something? :)
Seriously though, I figure you applied at Brighton seeing as you live there, and they're a really tough course to get onto. Certainly don't give up, maybe take a job this year and work on your folio? Or, if you can afford to relocate, Lincoln has a really good foundation course. Or it did when I was there.

Get some work experience in fella.. make some tea, designs and contacts.

I think that is the point, Foundation courses are there to help people find the area in art/design they wish to study. With a good portfolio maybe you can go straight into a degree?
