They hand code it. From what has been explained to me, is that there are too many shortcomings with the html that is put out there by DW.

* Smacks head.
I use Visual Studio 2005.
Technically it's a beefed up DW I guess geared solely to Microsoft Programming.
* Runs away skipping still manually doing CSS files and layout positioning.

(May 2 06, 10:24)in the late 90's, when I worked in the NYC tech area. somehow most jobs required you to hand code. WYSWIG's were a definite no-no. could depend on the area.

I use the Paperclip guy in word.
I just start typing "Website title" and the little guy pops up out of nowhere going "HEY! It looks like your making a web page!" and I just follow the steps from there.

(May 2 06, 10:32)This was true years ago, but not anymore. Dreamweaver is fine now. Fine to the point where I will refuse to work without it.

often exporting XML from Quark is a good work-around, but sometimes you get conflicts with the subnet mask settings which can generally be fixed by simply using "Object" > "Arrange" > "Bring to Front"..
hope this helps :)

DW's basic code is just html formated code. It's when you use the components or add-on scripts that I think it gets a little bloated. I always use DW when available, but i mostly handCode in it. So in reality it does not make much sense. Because the WYS part does not interp a css site very well. Always have to check in the browser.. or i'm just getting really lucky and the browser renders my fuckups in a good way... lol

you're better off using DW's CSS templates as well. They're the best imo.
I force my developers to use them for sheer sake of compliance.
God, they fucking hate me

I never understood reinventing the wheel by hand-coding things.
Sure it makes you a great coder, you could also build a house with a long stick and a heavy wooden shoe, but why in this day and age would you do that when you could use a nailgun?
My job is too fast-paced to be handcoding.

my jock is just too fast-paced to be handjerked

(May 2 06, 10:52)up to you.
DW doesn't seem to go that far. Although I'm sure you can import those and they are out there somewhere, but I meant more for just global control of SSs
