I tried the swf to fla app for mac (demo version). And I dont think its worth it. Well I use it to grab logotypes now and then. But tweens and actionscript is not in the files – maybe thats the demo version... I dont know!?

its called stealing

I dont know. I think a logotype now and then is alright but I know that you mean... If somebody gets a full as code maybe you can call it stealing – but then agian the app isent illegal.

the app isnt illegal, taking the code without the permission of the owner IS

At my previous job the fileserver died and they hadn't been doing regular backups.. We had to recreate all psd and fla files when any of hundreds of their clients from recent years asked for updates.
http://www.sothink.com decompiler worked best.

(Apr 29 06, 06:02)Agreed - soThink is very good.
It will decompile as2 classes and all. It cannot recreate the library names very good, but eh? thats not that big a deal
My last place purchased it. Saved a ton of time recreating the fla when all they had was the swf. Corp environments seem to lose a lot of sources files. But yeah, it can be used to steal stuff, without a doubt
