i *love* playing golf- been doing so since i was ~ 7 years old. have not been out in a while, but the casual concentration needed for it and simple tools used to complete shuch an technical sport is awesome.
i also love new england and eastern canada and have this ideal rocky coast/links vision in my head of how cool that would be to play. maine has some rinky little courses like that, but i envision this untouched, locals-only hidden gen of canadian course.

I love golf, and play quite a bit. I shoot in the mid-upper 70's.
Mike Weir, Canadian golfers is one of my clients. I actually do a lot of work in the golf industry.

Goddamit has anyone here ever broken a driver?! I was out smacking balls on the driving range...set one up...nice little swing...and the fucking cluib head went flying off! Snapped right at the base of the shaft!

I've only ever snapped a 9iron and that was after chucking it at a tree.

my first set of clubs had a 9 iron w/a loose head that would go zinging off every other time I swung it... usually into the water or the wooded area.

that sucks dude. but yeah- i did that to an older 3 wood. sucks, but it can be easily repaired. go to your favorite pro shop and they can fix it.

right now I'm just using an old set of hand-me-down TNT's that I got from my brother in law.
I did buy a new driver this year. Got an R5 for 200 bucks so it was a good deal. Gonna buy some wedges I think but I've made a rule that I'm not going to replace my iron set until I at least break 90.
No point in having good clubs and a shit game.

In high school and college I was a ranked golfer in Illinois.
On a course that I'm familiar with I can shoot a mid 80.
Last year my best 9 hole score was a 32 late in the season, but that was on my home town course that I know like the back of my hand.
I've only been to the range so far this year.

yes it does Pony. I shot a 109 on Saturday. Not great, but 1 stroke under the last time I played that course.
Got a birdie as well. Stuck a 5 iron 1ft from the hole on a 160 yrd Par 3. Damn near aced it.
So, a good round for me. Except when I accidentally skidded my cart into the backend of my buddies cart. Goin' a little too quick to stop on gravel I guess ;)

Enter response:haha... 'cart fun' is a part of the experience... especially when you and your two brothers are all 30+ years of age - and it still drives Dad nuts. (haha... the old man gets so annoyed by our horrid etiquette... or lack there of (which really only happens because he's there and we know it'll drive him nuts - that's love I tell you)).
